Diplomatic relations

Diplomatic   relations  established   between   Myanmar    and   Pakistan on 1 August 1947, was raised to Embassy level in 1948. The Embassy of the Union of Myanmar was opened in Karachi in January 1948.  Then, the Embassy was shifted to Islamabad in April 1969.  Pakistan has opened Embassy in Yangon since 1949. Myanmar and Pakistan signed the Treaty of Friendship on 25 June 1952, aimed at strengthening and promoting the bonds of friendship and widening the scope of co-operation, and ratified the Treaty in 1953.
